Finished my reloading bench
« on: February 08, 2015, 02:11:12 PM »
Finally got around to building my reloading bench.  Looked at lots of benches and ideas before deciding on this one.  Started it in November and just finished it..

Looks good, just needs some more loaders. Only one shot shell loader, you'll need one each for 20, 28 and .410 and then a progressive metallic cartridge one for mass production.  :chuckle: :chuckle: Sorry I could not resist.  :tung:

Ain't that the truth!

I like the thickness of the top you put on!!  The first one I put together was part of a kitchen island that had the stove in it, so it was almost like a desk.  But, I only used one piece of 3/4" or 7/8" (can't remember now) plywood on top.  It wasn't near sturdy enough, and I pulled the top off the base the first time I tried to resize some 300WM brass.  I don't think you'll have that problem lol

Looks great.  I like the lip on the edge, though I might go with a little shorter on the sides, just enough to keep stuff from rolling off.

I will definitely keep that design in mind when I build one.

Thanks again for all the comments..  It's really not that fancy of a bench.  Just some 2x4's and 2x6's from Home Depot, a sheet of 3/4 plywood, and some lag bolts.  Since the plan was to bring it inside the house, I dressed it up a bit with some stain I found in the garage.

Building it was pretty easy, but getting it into the house with only the wife's help was a challenge.  Thing is heavy!
