misc pics from 08 hunting
« on: December 30, 2008, 06:50:07 PM »
here is some pics from family and friends. Unfortunatly I have nothing to post because I chose to go on a ONLY TROPHY 08 hunting strategie WALL HANGERS only and did not succeed.  Had a blast and have tons of pics from dads dayton elk hunt to my Oregon, WA, and B.C. hunts but I wanted to share a couple misc pics with you all. The first one is my father in laws WT (one of 2 bucks he killed) in B.C residents can hunt wt. muley, blacktail with several options but usually you can kill atleast 2 or 3 bucks per year but usually NOT two of the same. WT you can kill atleast 2 with a muley or BT as your third buck. Then I included a pic of my whitetail I killed a couple years ago in Oregon with my muzzleloader. Paul Ellis sent me the pic of him alive which was so cool. He took it during a scouting trip a month before I hunted. Then there is a pic of Paul with his muzz NOV 08 WT he killed. He did not sell the tag so he ended up hunting but I give him much credit because he targeted this buck and held out even though he seen several other nice bucks that were 5x5 plus and held out until he got a chance at this one he chose as the only shooter.

Great deer.  Your OR whitetail is gorgeous!  Looks like you were in the snake river country(?)

Nice animals there!!!!!

My wife and I and several friends have hunted with Paul Ellis many times, Paul and his family run a real nice outfit, they are REAL FOLK, their hospitality is unmatched! His guides are good friends, his brothers, or other relatives, all of whom hunt and know what is going on around the ranches. I would not hesistate to send anyone his way for a deer , elk or bird hunt! He hunts out of Pilot Rock, south of Pendelton. I look forward to seeing him and Paul SR. at the sportsman show in Jan.
I wish the economy was better I would like to hunt with him again soon.

That Pilot Rock area has some great hunting and a lot of public land to hunt as well.  I was down that way for a five day archery elk hunt, and had a great time, and was in elk almost everyday.  Ended up taking a cow on the 3rd day.  Hope to go back next year.
