aurora borealis in Oregon
« on: March 19, 2015, 07:55:04 AM »
My first attempt at capturing the aurora borealis. Have never seen them before, but this sure whets my appetite for more! Couldn't see much more than a faint glow to the north, but the long exposures brought out the shapes and colors.  East of Dufur, Oregon on Tygh Ridge at 2:32am 3-18-2015

Really cool image.

Very nice. Wish I had checked, but getting up at 0200 to check is problematic when you have to get up at 0430 for work.

Spokane weather service facebook page posted some pics taken by a couple of reporters from KHQ.  They were out at Reardon taking pics.  KOMO had some nice pics taken by several different photographers around the Puget Sound region.

I did, but I had to watch where I set up or all the red lights from the damn windmills were blasting the foreground.   :bash:
