If all goes well I'll have one scoped by the end of the day. 

Wondering what guys are trying in these?  It's an RAR Predator FYI.

I have only been shooting factory ammo in the Ruger Target varmit, with a 28" barrel. So far the groups with 129gr is 3 shots in one hole at 100 yards. The 120 and 140 were all under .500" groups. hard to get away from the factory ammo if it will paint them all in the same hole.

Varget, 140 Bergers. Accurate, will kill anything you want AND it shoots steel to 900 yards. I have a Savage Model 16 with a Shrewd Precision 7 degree brake on the end. Nice gun .... I take it wolf hunting in Idaho and still haven't been able to kill anything with it....drats !!

Yeah, and mine is a RAR Predator as well.

Before you even bother shooting it, open up the barrel channel in the stock so it doesn't contact the barrel when the forend flexes. Give it a little more gap than you would think necessary. I carved out most of what I wanted to remove, then smoothed it with a deep socket wrapped in sandpaper.

With that done, mine is a good 1/2 moa shooter with the 123 A-Max and Rl-17 at 3,000 fps. Rl-17 seems to give higher velocity than 4350.

Interesting, 'm getting pretty pumped up to dial it in. Most of the info I found so far is on Snipers Hide.  But most every body seems to be shooting 130-140gr stuff.

How long have you had yours?   Is it my imagination or has Ruger stiffened up the stocks on the RAR..

Think I'm gonna go Urban Camo on the stock.  130VLD has my attention well..

I got mine earlier this year, and it does have the stiffer forend (cross hatch reinforcements instead of just lateral ribs). That's a big improvement, but they still didn't give enough clearance in the barrel channel, the forend can touch when firing or resting on a bipod.

Mine is throated too long for the 140 VLD's (dumb because that's the whole reason for the Creedmoor's existence) but the 123 A-max touches the lands right at max mag length. The other A-max weights should work well too, but I haven't tried them.

I'm actually using 7.62 mil brass. It gives up a couple grains in case capacity, but I have plenty of it and it's easy to form, just one pass through the 6.5C sizing die and trimming. My commercial Winchester 308 brass collapses at the shoulder when trying to form 6.5C, that doesn't work well at all.

140gr Hornady SST, 41.0gr IMR-4350. This is what the wife shoots in her Lady Savage 6.5 Creedmoor, tried 129gr factory and handloads but the 140gr work best in her rifle. She has won our local American Legion long range shoot, 400yd ladies division two years in a row with this load, and also harvested four, 3 point and better Bucks with the same load. She doesn't like to change loads from hunting to target shooting and I don't argue with her, she's a better shot!!!

 I believe the Creedmore is Ballistically the same as a .260 Remington, but designed two work in the AR platform.

Fit in short action repeaters.

This. It fits short action magazines, and is slightly more efficient in using less powder.

In a long action, like a Tikka, the 6.5x55 has the advantage.
