Bow string and cable
« on: January 01, 2009, 08:15:35 PM »
I need to replace my string and cable and wanted to see what people suggest.  I am not sure if it matters or not but I shoot a Mathews Switchback.  Thanks

I use winner's choice. It does what it is supposed to. No stretching of the string and consistent peep alignment.

I shoot for Rock Solid Strings simply because I've been through more strings than you can imagine, and they produce an extremely consistent product.  What you see is what you get from them.  Tell them that I sent you for a 10% pro staff referral discount.

p.s., I shoot a Switchback and kill and win with it, too.  I like drooling over all the bow ads, but that thing is too good to give up.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

I've had great results with winners choice strings and cables.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

I put bucknasty strings on mine and a few buddies as well.  No stretch.  Held up very well to the abuse we put them through.  My bow goes where most normal people wouldn't.  I've heard good things about winners choice as well, but I couldn't see paying that much.

Make sure you take it to a good bow shop that knows your bow brand. I had mine done last year at sportsmans warehouse ( Federalway ) and I never got the bow to shoot right again. Took it to two shops and no joy. Ended up selling it and buying a new bow. Worst thing is I just replaced the strings because the bow was six years old and had the original string. Good luck. Mike
