Raffle #2 has been drawn from those entries I've received.  Silverslinger (Elknut forum handle) is the proud owner of a Wapiti River Outdoors Black Widow reed, WRO reed pouch, and WRO Thermals Wind Checker.  Will get the raffle prize in the mail shortly.  Congrats Silverslinger!

We'll draw raffle prize #3 on Wednesday and raffle prize #4 on Friday or Saturday.  You can't win one of these if you haven't entered the calling contest  ;).

I'm gonna pull the next (and last) raffle prize tomorrow at some point.  Send your entry/sound clips in folks if you'd like to have your name in the hat for the raffle prize on Saturday.

Reminder, the contest entry window closes Sunday.

Raffle prize!  Allrighty then, I just had my lovely assistant pull a contestant number out of a hat and the lucky winner of a Wapiti River Outdoors "Easy Girl" bite and blow cow call is RooseveltObsession.  I'll contact Trav from WRO and ask him to send one of these exceptional good cow calls to the lucky winner.  Congrats!

OK, the deadline for entries is midnight tomorrow (Sunday, 7 June).  We have a good handfull of entries but there is certainly room for more contestants.  Reminder that the top 6 finishers receive very nice prize packages from the sponsors!  RJ

Let the judging begin!  The contest window closed yesterday and all of the audio clips have been provided to the judges for their review, scoring, and comment.  We have a total of 11 entries this year and I've gotta say, there are some pretty darn good submissions.  Best of luck to all who entered and thank you for participating in the second annual Elknut Elk Calling Contest

11 entries and I'll probably get 11th :chuckle: I must say, this is the 1st time I've tried to record and fit the sounds in a time frame, and I felt a bit rushed it seemed. Also I've noticed when just calling into a recorder in a your house, it's not near as easy to throw the emotion into your calling as it is when you have a bull bugling back  thanks again for putting this on!

One minute goes quick! A 2 minute submission would be nice.

I'm curious of two things, will the clips all be posted again for peoe to listen and learn from? I really liked that the last time. Who are this year's judges?

After the judging is finished, yes, I'll post the top six finishers on the Elknut forum.  Waiting on a few of the judges to finalize their scoring.  Who are the judges?  One former top level caller, one current top level caller, and two elk hunters with a just few years of experience talking/llistening to elk between them  ;).  I will say now that we've received some pretty dang good clips/programs this year.  Judging is not gonna be easy.
