Thanks, I'm starting to see bears dropping now.  It seems the early spring really didn't make a difference, I've always done decent later May and more kills are getting posted very recently. I wonder what it's like in early Or mid June??

Yikes, that's what sucks the later it gets.  When you going back out silk? This would be a good weekend!  I forgot to mention, I only saw 5 tics the entire time!  I think that spray works, or the rain and cooler weather help, prob a combo.

I'm stuck doing a family camping trip to Sun Valley this weekend, but after that its on for the weekend of the 30th. I'm fine with rubbed up hides, less to pack out, and less money to spend on mounts.

Timber said this back on 4:20 on my Snow report thread; "Also, if you are limited on time, I would hunt the week of the 18th.  That's a magic time to be in the woods chasing spring bears." I smiled a little thinking back on it when the bears started to fall this weekend while I was stuck on bottom fish charter trip.  :bash:

Glad you were able to knock one down! We spotted 2 Sunday and one was a platinum blond! I tried to make a play and hiked all the way down a ridge to the bottom of first creek looking for him but he ended up in the timber down there. We hunted hard yesterday and this morning with no luck. Congrats again on a heck of a bear!
