I know for a fact it's real, was taken either in AZ or NM.  The cat atcually bailed, what you cannot see from that angle is he is not over thin air, towards the camera the hill slopes down, he landed there and was treed farther down the canyon.  There are some other photos with this one, but this one is the best. :)

I wish i remembered what site the rest of the pics were on.  Theres some pretty cool ones from that race.

Sweet!  I've never ran cats in the sage before, I bet thats got to be kind of cool.  I've ran a bear across open ground.  Man those things can smoke with a couple hounds on their ass.

I think you have them all up there.  A few years back a web forum wanted  to find the photographer to get an original to add to a calendar. I don't know if they ever did.
