Oopps...wrong hunt!
« on: May 19, 2015, 09:47:20 PM »
So my father has always put in for our entire hunting group special applications. Hes done well for many years and this way one of us doesnt forget to apply.... this year he accidentally put us in the wrong groups and units for one of our elk applications.  :bash: :bash: :bash: does anyone have any idea if you can correct a group our unit error after submitting? I cant seem to find a way to easily fix this yet. :dunno:

Call the WDFW office in Olympia tomorrow. You best do it early in the morning before they get too flooded with phone calls. The number is 360-902-2515. Just have your WILD ID numbers handy. It shouldn't be a problem fixing the mistake. I've done it more than once.

I made a mistake this year (chose the wrong deer category).  I contacted WDFW, and was told "too bad."  In their words, the Legislature doesn't give WDFW authority to refund application and/or change mistakes.

Maybe BobCat has more pull than I do, but I couldn't get anywhere.  Good luck to you.

They've helped me in the past. Real nice lady answered the phone and she logged in with my info and fixed my stuff and then had me log in and confirm. This year an equally nice lady helped by adding a youth hunt number that was in the book, but not in the app program. She put me on hold while she " told the IT guy" and then had me log in and confirm the hunt was there.

But.....there is language to the affect that "all purchases are final".
Maybe that's the difference. I've never asked for a refund or tried to change applications, just fixed hunt numbers, ect. All the purchases are through a 3rd party setup as far as I can tell. They probably can't alter the purchases once done.

I don't think he was asking for a refund, wdfw has no problems switching hunt numbers for you.  They will be very busy today though, call early.

I've never called to ask for a refund, and wouldn't. But I have called and asked to have my hunt choices changed and I've also had my application changed from an individual to a group application.

Sounds like a phone call is the only thing that "might" get me a chance to switch things back to normal. I will try and do that. Maybe it was fate, we will soon find out.

Awesome now you can be disappointed not drawing the tag you wanted instead of being disappointed not drawing the tag you accidently put in for. All is right with the universe again  :chuckle:

They will change it for you as long as your request is submitted before the deadline, this is what causes us all to wait longer for the draw to come out......LOL

In my case I wasn't asking for a refund, but that is what WDFW would have had to do to rectify the problem.  I wanted to apply for a certain 2nd deer tag, but accidentally purchased the application for "antlerless deer."  They told me they could not change the purchase between those two groups.

It is only $6.60 or something like that.  Not a problem---I consider it a donation to the department.  I now have 1 point in a category that I will never use.
