Never did pass (or take) Hunter Safety.  It wasn't required in 1960, but what was required was having Dad and my uncle think I was responsible enough to take out.

Did not get my first animal till 1994 here in Washington....with a bow.
Now up to 14 deer, 4 elk and 1 bear, all here in WA, all with archery.

I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies

In November U.S. manufacturing contracted for the the ninth consecutive month. Layoffs across the economy are higher than anytime since the pandemic in 2020 and I just read that the Midwest farmers will be receiving a 12B bailout due to 50 year trade relationships being destroyed. I have to admit that I was a sceptic and didn't believe in the effectiveness in tariffs but I'm a believer now.

Took hunter ed in 1994 but didn't get to hunt until 1995.  Killed a 3pt in Goldendale.  On the pack out my dad shot a heavy beamed 3x5.  We jumped him out of his bed and my dad made a great running shot with half my deer on his back.
It is foolish and wrong to mourn these men.  Rather, we should thank god that such men lived.  -General George S. Patton

Spring of 1964, I took the class at Tacoma Sportsmans Club. Got a 8' spike with eye guards on Quartz Mountain South west of Republic. I still have the euro mount in the rafters of the garage along with the 2X2 my dad got on the same hunt.
