Almost anywhere around Mukilteo will be devoid of keepers.  Head north.

Head north? are you kidding? Have you seen the amount of tribal pots up there this year? It's unreal!

There will be now that the NDN's know there are none..... :chuckle:

No pots here in the Isles yet, but we don't get to crab until July 16.   :yike:

I am sure looking forward to sinking my teeth into a few...if they do not catch them all ..or I may need to have to go to the casino to eat some  :dunno: :chuckle:

You must be joking, right? I didn't think you'd be one to support the casinos.   >:(

He appeared  to be joking with the laughing emoticon?  If not, would it be a bad thing if he patronized a casino?

Only if he wants to support giving the Mucks more $$ to buy more land on the westside that gets removed from public access.

Exactly my  thoughts on the subject. The more money they get, the more land they're buying up and the more resources they take.

They are back again.  Pots every 100 yards are so from the Mukilteo boat launch to the shipwreck.  They are using Lighthouse Park as their seafood company base.

Can the tribes drop pots anywhere they want, or do they have to heed the "non-commercial crab zones"?  I can't find any info on tribal crabbing boundaries.  I would like to drop my pots in areas they haven't already cleaned out.

Good luck with that.

Here's the treaty language:

ARTICLE 5.

The right of taking fish at usual and accustomed grounds and stations is further secured to said Indians in common with all citizens of the Territory, and of erecting temporary houses for the purpose of curing, together with the privilege of hunting and gathering roots and berries on open and unclaimed lands. Provided, however, That they shall not take shell-fish from any beds staked or cultivated by citizens.

Heard they have a big quota that is getting shipped over China or Japan. Just like the old days right?

It's wrong they crab the week before the summer opener.
