That is my first choice tag, congrats! I was about 40 yards away from one today up there, it was a nice one! A pic of him is on my white river rut topic in the elk section.  Steep country
“In common with”..... not so much!!

Hunted it with rack attack in 2012. Awesome hunt. I hope I draw that some day. Saw tons of goats. Brutally steep country.

Yes I have and that is why I bring up the .270 and I shoot a 7 mm when it is necessary when I rifle hunt, but the first choice is always my Hoyt Carbon Element

Great choice. That's what I used in 99 when I drew. Double lunged
A nice billy with federal 140 gr trophy bonded bear claw.  IMO there
Isn't a tougher animal to put down pound for pound then a Mtn goat.
Make sure you ankor him good on your first shot.  They have no
Problem doing a death dive off a steep mountain side.
Cast all your anxiety upon him, for he cares for you.    1 Peter 5:7

Next ? On these goats how well is the meat? I have read that it is good and I have read it is tough and gamey? From those of you that have eaten it what is your opinion?
