This will be a fun hunt.  There are some nice deer running around that unit at this time.

Those are cute. Since you won't answer any of the other questions I've asked, maybe I'll try one more: Did you shoot a whitetail doe or a muley doe?

I think I already answered it if you put 2 and 2 together....but ok. WHITETAIL DOE

Now enjoy that crow and humble pie. Please take seconds. Their on me...

All I can say is that I got drawn for 1028   Pogue   Modern   Nov. 1-20   Any Buck   GMU 233. I'm planning on hunting hard and hoping the snow pack is there. Campmeat must be nice to have a cabin up there.

You drew a whitetail tag in western GMU's of the county. That's a lot different than the tag the OP drew, hence the confusion to saying you drew the same tag and shot a doe. Also, I was confused with the OP drawing the Pogue tag and you saying you hunted the "fire lines".  You must have been in a different GMU, because the Pogue didn't have fire lines in 07, from the Tripod.

My tag was not a white tail only tag. It was "any deer". It essentially the same hunt as the original poster, except I could shoot any deer and hunt multiple GMUs.

The Tri-Pod fire started July 4th 2006 via lightning. Our family resort was evacuated in Conconully. The lake reservoir water was used to help put out the fire. Fire lines were cut all over the backside of Baldy Mtn. We have been snow mobiling and hunting them for years. They were cut it when the wind shifted out of fear the fire would race down the backside of the mountain and burn down Conconully. Perhaps you have not hunted much around that part of the Pogue. They are there or I wouldn't of posted it. Good place to hunt for somebody that does not want to go to far into the back country. I drew my tag the year after the big fire (2007) and had success. Had I had more time to hunt, I would have got a nice buck. I only hunted the last Saturday and Sunday of the season. Sunday was the last day.

Whoa whoa whoa......slow down for just a second. ANY deer tag for multiple units late season and you seriously shot a doe. Any you know the area really well. I just threw up a little. You guys quit accusing him of all these things. I think he feels enough remorse as it is.

Going to be a super hunt for you. Sorry about the thread jack, but I have problems with those who are clueless about everything,  including what they themselves even posted moments before.  :chuckle:  If you need anything feel free to send a PM

You guys are comical. Like I said...I only hunted the last 2 days of the season. Sorry but I work for a living and got limited amounts of time off. I hunted around for the big boy, passed on 2 smaller bucks, and decided to shoot a doe for meat in the freezer about an hour before the season ended. That's why...

Hunt the rocks on the west side of 97 north of Riverside all the way up to the Fish Lake cutoff Rd. Our cabin is in that area.

Hunt the rocks on the west side of 395, north of Riverside all the way up to the Fish Lake cutoff Rd. Our cabin is in that area.

395 doesn't even run through Okanogan County..... :dunno:
