I put in for a unit in the special draw that had great odds of drawing last year with 2 points, no so this year . Good luck to all that drew antelope, should be a great season with the mild winter and spring moisture they got. I can't complain too much, I did draw a CO deer tag.

I drew.. my first choice... wanted my second.

Now my point are gone and my buddy and I have to split our hunting trip between two different areas.

The obvious question: why did you put your first choice second?

To hopefully draw your second choice and still receive a preference point. I did that with deer this year. So I got my deer tag I wanted and a preference point.

Got mine yesterday.

Starting to get excited

Bobcat: that Meopta 44mm riflescope you linked the other day, do you know how that compares to a Zeiss Conquest as far as optical quality and light transmission goes? I'm thinking of taking my 50 year old Remington 721 out for its first hunt, and it may be prudent to upgrade the fixed 6x 50 year old riflescope that's on it.

No, I don't know how the Meopta compares to the Zeiss Conquest. I'd just buy a Leupold VX-2.

Antelope are almost always hunted in daylight conditions. Special optics are not required.

Other than needing a copy of your hunter's ed card in the field, any gotcha's in Wyoming? I'll read and reread the regs, but I would rather avoid a stupid ticket if possible.

Anyone know anything about unit 25? My buddy put us in and we drew... Don't have a ton of time. Thinking about archery hunting it in August???
