Fire closure plan "B"
« on: June 24, 2015, 09:31:26 PM »
Just curious if all you early archery hunters have a plan B with all the fire closures? Will you seek out state land to hunt? (Which might be so over crowded that it's just stupid). Or might you sit out the early season and wait for hopefully a good late season? I only get one week for this, this year... Not sure what to do?? Thoughts? What are you guys all thinking? I know there's wilderness areas as well, but my brother tore his mcl and is holding off surgery till after the season. He said he's good to go, but I think a wilderness backcountry hunt might be a bit much.

You always have a plan B.  If fire closure is in effect I will be hunting my private land.

There is still two and a half months until the season starts. A lot can change. But having a back up plan is always smart.

State land can still be productive even with fire closures in your original hunt area.  Having a plan B, C and D is imperative, you never know what variables you may have to deal with.  Other hunters can be used to your advantage at times, nevertheless, get in a go deep.  Captain Obvious signing out!  :chuckle:

Sometimes plan B is just a few trails away, I remember 6 years ago , ( dependant upon memory loss ) 364 was almost completely closed , I went home to the air conditioner and friends of mine moved over to bumping and there grandpa ran into 15 elk in a canyon just over the highway from 364 and went back to camp to tell everyone , they circle the wagons around them and got two cows, Ill be dammed , it that wasn't the same season I had the unlimited bull tag, of course after there awesome phone call my wife started asking where are you going, Im sure nobody here is asking !Turns out peoples gut piles aren't that interesting after all because after finishing the season up there didn't see a darn thing but a lot of smoke and a lot of people dressed like aliens  ,,that would be fire marshall bills, but Im allways headed back to 364 FIRST !!
