Broadheads-Mech.
« on: July 02, 2015, 10:26:10 AM »
I am on fence about this.  I think flight isn't an issue until speeds exceed 280fps+-.  I do shoot faster than this but unsure if the mechs. are better killers?  Or worse?  Im concerned how they would react to bone hits.  Not all shots are perfect double lungs, sometimes ribs and such are in the way.  Being able to blast through is important.  Shuttles, Muzzy, Thunderheads have done me well so far.  Is a 2 blade @ 2" mech. with 4" total cutting really better than fixed 3-4 blade 7/8" with equal cutting surface? :dunno:
MAGA!  Again..

Until what I have stops working or someone in my hunting party proves to me that the mechanicals outperform my oldschool thunderheads, I am sticking with what I know works for me.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I've had good luck with fixed..... not sure I trust mech.
Plus I need to try one of RadSav's broadheads!
Old enough to know better.
Young enough to go for it.
