Might have trouble convincing someone it's not bear bait… while you're at it you should try a couple hundred pounds brown sugar and stale marshmallows. Throw it all in a pile and set it on fire, the smoldering, smoky sweet smell should do the trick!

Sounds more like jail bait instead of convincing someone it was bear bait.
Thanks for the info! My idea was to spread corn and slop on some molasses. Used to do that on some private ground in CO while deer were wintering, they liked it then. Got a nice 3x4 blackie hitting my trace minerals right now and I want to keep him there until I can run an arrow through him.
Please don't light anything out in the woods !! Heck for all that matters , don't even shut your car door hard that might light something, ive been using that record rack and the bears and dear are making it hard to keep up, maybe give that a try I couldn't find any fire combustion warning levels on it anywhere.
