Why are you guys sticking up for these people is beyond me..I don't give a rip if they are low-level anything, THEY SHOULD KNOW. It's their friggin' job or ask. They gave me an answer, that could of cost me dearly, yet some of you stick up for them.
Just to be fair to you guys. If I ask about something, I want the right answers the first time I ask. I don't like it when people say something and don't know. All the guy should of said, I don't know, let me get someone who can answer your question. He didn't do that, so I believed him. Then I saw this today, called the WDFW and was given the right answer.

So, at my age, your asking me what number I called... I think you gave me the number...
While not the same situation, when I went in to apply at an idfg office earlier this year a guy walked up to the counter and asked a very simple question about waiting periods after drawing here in idaho. He stated that he had drawn a bull moose tag the previous year and wanted to know how long he had to wait before applying for cow moose. The lady at the counter quickly thumbs through the regs then says "well I can't find it, but I'm pretty sure it is a 1 year wait". So I chimed in and said no it is 2 years(correct info). She says back to me "no it is 1 year". I let it slide thinking whatever then the guy asks "well can I still apply for deer and elk" she replies "no that is also a 1 year wait"(wrong again) at this point I pipe back up and say "sir it is a 2 year wait on moose only(correct info), so you can apply for goat, or sheep, or deer elk and antelope" the lady replies "no I'm sorry we're talking about big game here" at that point the lady helping me had printed all my stuff off so I turned and walked out.All of that to say that I agree with campmeat here and think that maybe a basic knowledge of the laws they are answering questions about.
I just called WDFW to check. I was told there is going to be a redraw.
Your father will need his regular elk tag to use, along with the special permit. There is no additional cost. You may be thinking of the multi-season elk tag.
