I'd better set the ladder up on the house.  8)

Got a new string and bumped the draw weight up to 66 a couple days ago.  Decided to throw some arrows at 60 yards today just for the heck of it, first time in years.  The first pic is that, second is from 45 yards. Gonna keep at it.

The dot is 2".

They'll be slaves to the ewes at the start of your hunt.  I'd watch where the ewes are watering, if they are using a spot on repeat days that is where I'd look to put a blind downwind as my first choice for archery.  If you find a good ram by himself, there is a decent chance you can make your way to him without even having to sneak much - I've had single rams on the move approach me during the rut to see if there's a ewe to breed.  I've gotten close to Swakane rams post-rut several times (20-30 yards), they behaved quite differently than deer or elk.  If bedded or feeding rams spot you, and you stay in position for 30 minutes or so, they seem to accept you as part of the landscape.  As long as you move slowly, and stop when they are paying attention to you, they aren't too hard to get fairly close to.  You don't need to freeze, I've never had problems taking pictures as long as I wasn't moving - but make sure your camera is silent, they don't like the electronic beeps and shutter sounds much on digital cameras.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Finally!!  Going to get boots on the ground (boat in the, fresh, water) Friday.  Heading in tomorrow, fixed the "extra" boat trailer, new heater core in the truck and away we go.

I'm tossing in a couple of rods and the bear rifle just in case. I'm passing on the shotgun for chukars this time around though.

You didn't tell me that I was going to be ridding in a truck with radiator problems.  >:(

Do I need to warm up my hitchhiker thumb.  :chuckle:

I'm sure we will have fun ogling over lots of Rams, it just make him a insomniac till 3 November.  ;)

No radiator problems, just no heat if needed and the air conditioner is iffy if that would be needed as well. All is well and the truck is ready, talk to you in a bit, still trying to pack.

No wind. The lake has been glass. Even though you are bringing rain for Sat. you wont have to see what the wind will do here. Enjoy

Nope the radiator, heater core whatever was the least of my problems today on our quest to get out of town. Loki set me up for great success with his boat today  >:(, go get it and drive it around to Washington park I'll meet you there to load up with the truck.
Ok that's simple enough to do, only one problem boat engines don't run on hopes and empty tanks.  :bash: Luckily a guy was following me out of the marina, and it ran out of gas just past the fuel dock, he was kind and gave me a short tow to the dock.  Just glad it happened there and not out in open water.

What will the rest of the weekend bring?  :dunno:

Very :bdid: here. You might be the only boat on the lake in Nov. Still shouldn't take very many hours to get help. But in wind and the rocky shore isn't very far away that makes for some fun. My spare gas can burnt up with my firewood and haven't bought another yet. You guys will have more fun than all others.
