How do you do it?

This is my first year putting any cameras out and I still have two more weeks until I can get back into the area and check them.  This is driving me nuts wondering what is going to be on them.  I'm daydreaming about them every freaking day!!!  How do you guys do it?

I check once a week, but if I had to wait a month...I would be thinking about it all the time.

I have four up in an area that is now closed to fire danger. It's been over a month and had no clue when I'll b able to get them!!!

I used to be like that but after a few years, I have gotten used to it. I have one out now that has been out for almost 2 months now and have had some out for way longer than that between checking them. Depending on how far the areas are from your house, one thing to do is stagger when you put them out. That way you can just cycle through and check one each weekend while letting the rest soak. Going in and checking too often won't help your cause.

I have one out that has been out for almost  a year unchecked. I remember it's there and think about going to get it next time I think I'll be able to. Then that day comes and something else comes up and I forget. One of these days. I'll be amazed if anything is on it. I'm sure the batteries have got to be dead by now and the bait was gone long ago.

I guess as long as it's open by October 17th... I just want to change the batteries at the very least.

I have cameras out yearound, mule deer honey hole and elk spot, It is awesome hiking in to your cameras after 6 months.

My hunting partner put up cameras that send an email. 
We had to install fancy antennas.  Only visit to change the batteries

Just keep reminding yourself that the longer you let them soak, the less you will disturb the animals you seek to capture on "film".  It helps.  I go out every 10 days to three weeks to retrieve cards and move cams.  All too often, I got no captures and I'm glad I didn't wait longer.

The majority of my cameras are a 7 hr. drive away.  So I don't get to check often. But it drives me nuts waiting!

That all depends on the wife's mood. Sometimes we do it early, other times later in the day. Usually on weekends, 10-12 times  I would like to do it more but she gets tired of it ( says it's all I think about). Sometimes the dogs watch us do it. Don't forget to bring extra batteries, it's a bummer when you run out. We prefer to take videos over pictures, you get a better view of the action, and the after a long day of doing it we kick back and watch the movies.....oh wait......this is about trail cams.....same rules apply
