The Puyallup has a lot of fish (seen pinks and kings caught the 3 times I've been down there)...and more on the way. No need to wait any longer. I took my 9 year old down there on Sat and he got one with no help from me at all!

Coach and I had 4 pinks with a bunch of long line jumpers, a dogfish and a limit of crab each.   Got to go get 13 stitches later when I decided the cut on my leg from the seat boxes in the boat while netting a fish was deeper than it first appeared.

I guess I'm installing foam bumpers on my seat boxes.... :)

Does anyone know if the pink fishing is any good on the Pt. Defiance side of Commencement bay?  Browns point is supposedly good but parking is better on the Pt. Defiance side.

Was out on Sunday in 8-2, 9 Ran into a forum member at the launch.
Hit it early to drop pots and try a different piece of water in 8-2, the tide was almost all out when we started fishing so the plan was to troll the new to us area south till the tide changed and then hit some spots we know if needed.

The early bite was slow (atleast around us), no nets flying and the people i checked with via text seemed to be having the same luck in other spots.

Boated the first fish at 6:53, then got a text from the forum member i saw at the launch, he just had a downrigger cable break on the way up, bummer.... let him know we had repair stuff on board and an extra ball he could borrow if he needed. Gave him or coordinates and he came up to meet us and get the stuff he needed. (great thing about this site and meeting people thru out the years).
He fished next to us on the way down, saw his broinlaw hookup and get it in the boat.

We got down to the area we wanted to be in with the incoming tide and it played out like this:
8:54 1st double, both in the boat
9:00 lost one at the boat
9:03 2nd double, both in the boat
9:13 3rd double, both in the boat
9:27 8th fish in the boat
A limit in the boat in 30mins (7) + the one from earlier, we could of kept fishing and catching if we had more people...the 10yo boy was too tired to go after 2 days of football combine...he woke up but was a zombie, he was bummed when i got home... :chuckle:

Crab sucked, think someone pulled our pots as we got only had a few crab in each pot, one pot only had 1 crab in it  >:(...we usually do great and have every other time this year in the same spot we use every year...

Will be back out this coming weekend, wave hello... :hello:

To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Just throw me that ball back, nothing else needed..
I have a trick for helping to keep them hooked...last weekend we lost 5 at the boat in a row, this weekend we could not knock them off if we tried (and i did my best to make it happen  :chuckle:)

Hey hook me up with your trick, too.  I seriously could use a trick.  My wife caught more than I did.  Sticks in my craw.
