During the afternoon flood, we marked a lot of fish down between 100 & 135 ft.  We dropped down there & came up with a nice big humpy.  Oh well!   :chuckle:

Fished a bit on the way to town today.  Released a short king and kept two pinks, one was large trout sized one but should still be yummy.

Put it whole on the Bbq.....

Saturday should be a sporty fishery per the weather outlook.... :puke:

I've been cooking salmon whole on the Traeger lately and love it!  I cut some slices in the side down to the bone.  Stuff some lemon slices, fresh dill, and butter in the body and slices, then salt/pepper the whole thing.  Turns out really tasty!

They make good fish tacos.  Brush the fillets with olive oil.  Sprinkle with lemon pepper & grill on tin foil with the skin down.  I also smoke alder chips while it's cooking.   :cue:

Anniversary today.  27.  Great day on the water except someone forgot their catch card. :-\  Shipwreck.  Most of our crabs were soft shelled today and went back.

Awesome. We got 6 salmon and 7 dungees. No soft shell for us.

Had most of our hits with a hot spot flasher. 55 feet

So its supposed to rain tomorrow. How will that affect the fishing at shipwreck?

So far, I have been lucky and only had sunny days.

I fished there with my cousin right after our last heavy rain.  It was so dead all morning, but when the tide changed to flood fishing got good in a hurry.  I think fishing will be good for another week, but the seiners sure were hitting it hard on Wednesday.  :twocents:

Weather was nice and rain is coming, so left work a little early and fished around Shilshole this evening.  Started fishing at 4:30, and finished at 6:15 with one pink...to go with our limit of coho.

I smoked up 10 more the other day. I'm done keeping humpies for the season. It's been a good one and I will still enjoy catching, I'll just be doing more releasing. I haven't kept count but I probably have smoked up 40ish. A lot have been shared at work and with friends. I've also made up 15- 1 1/2 pint containers of salmon dip which is in the freezer along with 5 containers of crab/shrimp dip. We are ready for the holiday get together's this year. Now I just need to get some silvers in the freezer. Happy fishing everyone, get out and enjoy this fantastic pink run!
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

Nice work.  I should try something besides my standard smoking recipe.   You have given me some good ideas.  I hope to get my first coho on the downrigger this year.  Pinks have been a lot of fun though.

Thanks.  Our fish were 50-70 feet.
