I definitely am. I wish I wasn't so busy at work.  Bear season and catching pink salmon off Whidbey both start at the same time.

I have a bear on my property whose life expectancy is getting real short :chuckle:
I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

I got the elk all tied up!  This bear was hanging 15-20 feet from 3 kids two weeks ago, all under the age of three!   He needs to go!!!  I was not there but my buddy and his wife were and the bear wouldnt leave.  He got the kids inside and eventually boo boo walked away.

I am setting up base camp next Thursday and then heading out the 1st. My wife and I had a pretty crazy year (another kids, new house)... at this point, I am so excited to get out of the city that I am really just going to unwind and enjoy the outdoors and take in everything I can for the week I will be out there. I was hesitant to head up in the mountains and leave her home with a 22 month old and 1 month old, but she saw all the research I was doing and how I had all my maps out to find somewhere close to home where I could just do a couple of day hunts, and she insisted that I take a week and go out in the woods. Must admit, she is pretty awesome. The only trade off is I have to fly to Maine August 14-22nd to visit her family, so I think she made a good trade  :chuckle:

Good luck everyone! I am not too worried if I get one or not, I just can't wait to get back out in the woods and scout for hunting areas while looking for bear (or something like that)

I'll be out on the first, I just don't know where. I hope the weather stays cooler, 70's anyway. I've been exploring area's closer to home lately, I just moved to the out skirts of Arlington. The berries are ripening so it should be a good opener. The question is whether to hunt high, low or mid. I'd better figure it out before next weekend.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!
