Puyallup Pinks

Finally went down for a look today and boy do I regret that decision.  After cleaning my first fish I rinsed my hands in the river and shook them to dry off the excess water.  In so doing my wedding ring flew off and I heard it clank against a rock and then enter the water.  Tried to find it for quite awhile but it was hopeless.  It landed in shallow water but the water is so murky I really had little chance of finding it.

It's a huge shot in the dark but if anyone finds a basic gold ring and has the heart to contact me to return it I can identify it by telling you what the inscription says.  Thanks.

I thought the same thing but I don't know whether it could detect through water, and, well, I don't have one or know anyone who does.  I suspect it would be relatively easy to find if it would work in water and I had a detector, which is why I don't really want to give away the location over the Internet.  What a quandary.

I'm guessing you'd need one that is at least waterproof or possibly submersible even. Don't know about the rental units.

That's probably the route I would go, before my wife figured out it wasn't on my finger.

I lost mine in the garden once and my wife found it before I mentioned it was missing. Never heard the end of that.

Sigh.  Oh well, we gave it a good shot, checked an area quite a bit larger than where I bought it may have flew off, and came up empty.  Well, except for an IPhone, a license plate, sunglasses, clippers, a flashlight, and several other bits of metallic paraphernalia.  We think it got picked up by someone who will cash it in.

Gonna try and sneak out there this weekend, is there any where that I can do well from a bank? I'd like to take my dad to get his first salmon as well as my first but neither of us have waders. I can borrow a buddy's waders but they are kinda big and his boots won't fit me or my dad. Any advice for a newb salmon fisher would be awesome.

Any reports from the river? Might head out there today and check it out but its a bit of a drive to go this early usually. And when I come home empty handed it makes it harder to justify not getting something else done on that honey do list!

I really hate when the pinks show up ..it does bring out the clowns ..they are the easiest salmon to catch so everyone in their brother is out there ..and the worst part about it is all the littering  The whole flossing thing as been a problem forever .. All you need to catch all the pinks you want in a 3/8 to 1/2 ounce jig head and a hoochie ... You can catch all you want ( without) snagging them !!  Sometimes I will use a shrimp oil on the skirt to give it a little smell !

Agree with what you're saying. If anyone goes down there, please bring a garbage sack. I hate seeing the wads of line that accumulate in particular.

Keep in mind the Puyallup this time of year is the color of a parking lot. And there are plenty of fish in the river. So...draw your own conclusions.

I just wish people in general would be more respectful of the fish as well as the surroundings. There was already an article in the Tacoma paper about possible closures because of trash, etc.
