Ray, I agree with you on those 2 points, Thats why I didn't comment on them. But I mean come on 6 to 7 weeks? Modern guys get what 2 weekends, I would have no problem with them opening it up to 3 weekends, not everyone would go all three weekends (esp the casual hunters that make up the majority of the modern hunters)

Why is it that 99% of the bucks I take in for taxidermy are rifle kills??

But you have to look at the big picture. Archers get 2 mos to hunt deer, it selfish to say that one group deserves more time than another, don't get me wrong, I do bowhunt for elk and have bowhunted for deer many times. I found it easier to take a deer with a bow (esp mulies) just for the time of year you can hunt them, your getting them before anyone else in the early season then you get to hunt them while they are trying to winter. We need to band together as hunters no matter the method that we hunt, it will be better for the sport.

Honestly i think its because a good portion of archers take does and small bucks  :dunno:

I hope they are proposing some of these changes.  That would be good, good news.

I might agree with that. But it also shows that those 6-7 weeks archers getting today are not really much of an impact on the deer. Thus shortening the season is not necessarily the right thing to do. This is where the proportional user arguments don't always add up.

I think they need to go to draw only for Rifle on the east side for muleys.

Like I said Ray, I do bowhunt and have for years. I started rifle hunting again so I could hunt with my son when he was 10 and too little to shoot a 40 lb bow and other family members who did not hunt archery, thats all and have decided to stick with it for a balance. I don't have a problem with the archery season being 6-7 weeks long I just think in all fairness its selfish to say that the riflehunters should be limited to 9 days thats all. Peace  ;)

I rifle hunt. I don't think the archery season is taking away from the rifle hunters. that's the layman's term for some parts of my responses above.

Archers do not get 2 months for deer.
If we are talking westside, archers got 73 days to hunt deer in certain areas this year.

I don't think they should extend modern season, nor should they shorten the archery season. FWIW, I hunt both.

I've heard rumors of draw only for muleys there.  We'll see.

The long archery season is taking the opportunity away from the MZ, not the modern firearm guys.
