Ok with archery elk approaching I'm trying to get the gear ready and there always seems to be something you wish you brought or that you forgot. Something around elk camp or out on the hunt. what's your must have gear, camp, or in your pack.

Will have to try the coca cola on the arms trick. I pack latex gloves now for gutting and cleaning. Never used to but started last year and liked it

Baby wipes work as well. Used them last year after my wife shot her bear. Ended up with a rather large pile of bloody wipes on the ground afterwards that had to be rounded up afterwards and thrown away. Either direction your either throwing away a can or some wipes.  :twocents:

Out scouting yesterday down low 1500 to 2000 ft the yellow jackets were really bad to where it would be impossible to bone one out wasp protection of some sort.

Didn't see a lot when i was out last Sunday but i know with an animal down they will be bad.  I was thinking what the best measures will be should an elk go down.  I would keep a long sleeve shirt at least (if you don't hunt with in one).  I'll be tucking everything in, shirt into pants, pants into socks and/or have gaiters, sleeves into your latex/nitril gloves.  I'll have a billed hat, but also a mosquito head net i'll probably tuck into the neck of my shirt.  May have a neck gaiter as well.  None of that takes up room and i'd rather look ridiculous than be stung a bunch, but i understand the possibility is high i'll get a couple of them.

Baby wipes and rubbing alcohol. cleans, disinfects, cheap. A little makes for a good fire starter in a pinch also.
