Absolutely will, thanks for all the positive feedback everyone, makes it alittle less painfull. Gonna go attempt to cutt off the backstraps for dinner then send the deer to the butcher in the morning. Wish me luck.  I got alot more hunting to do this year. Ill try to keep everyone "who cares" posted.

I drive over there and see what they're talking about, Its a small deer. The younger guy starts laughing and goes "Its a baby, you shot bambi" and just keeps laughing, at this point Ive seen it and I feel like complete crap, It WAS a small deer and I had to deal with these people laughing at me. Anyways, I throw the deer in the back of the truck, tag it, and leave... That about sums it up.  Alittle long.

You could be my best friend or family member and I am still ribbing you about the size. But you did everything right and have nothing to be ashamed about.

Now is time to reflect and learn from this experience. What did you do right, what did you do wrong or could have done different? Did you have everything you needed? What stuff did you not need that may be left at home next time?

Now is also time to start scouting new areas for next year, helping the old lady find a deer and learning how to cut up your own animal.

Not sure who I need to talk to about that one. I have two gopros now and Ive tried to get better about taking atleast one with me, Now turning it on is another story lol

Hey man thanks, I appreciate the offer.. At this point no, Im gonna go just slice away and Ive already planned on taking it to the butchers in the morning. Ah, it is what it is. In a couple years you will laugh as well.

Just remember that a good sized bt doe might only go 125 gutted. And take note of the head. If the ears seem large on a bt, it is a small deer. A spike is small compared to a mature doe. Learn size comparisons now and you will have a better idea what to pass on next year.

At least you had a knife. My brother used to take off with a rifle and a couple rounds... and always forget a knife.

Sorry Smossy didn't post his successful hunt how you would prefer, honestly I don't know why you even got on here to comment.  Smossy you did a great job, my first deer was a tiny doe I literally threw over my shoulder, and carried out.  I have been fortunate to take some nice animals in the years since then, but the skills that have helped me harvest more mature animals were built by learning from those earlier successes.  I also want to commend you on taking the time to find the property owner before crossing the fence, that took integrity, and it speaks volumes about your character.
