About 6 weeks ago I started spending a few days now and then in the Missouri Breaks... I wanted to get a look at as many rams as I could! at the time, I had my favorite hunting partner along... last year she was standing shoulder to shoulder with my when I shot my first archery bull... This year, an ACL reconstruction/replacement kept her off the hills, but she did help spot some sheep.

In about 6-7 days of scouting, I saw far few rams than I wanted to. I had high hopes of seeing umptine rams... and getting a look at a few monsters. Didn't happen. I think I saw 27 rams, and the biggest were a few in the mid to upper 170's. Now, we all know, those are good rams, and they looked damn good... but in this unit... you want to find something a touch bigger.

Here's a couple nice ones we saw...

There were three in this bunch...and as you can see... they were no slouches... but I didn't get excited... they didn't have "the look"...

One of the three was "close" to having "the look"...
