Dirt bags 0, my camera 1- corral pass area!
« on: September 20, 2015, 08:17:40 AM »
Just want to call out the dirtbags that tried like heck to steal my trail camera that was in the backcountry of corral pass!  Seems to me since you're probably involved with the theft of my cousins camera in the same general area last year, that your a habitual camera thief.  Your time is coming, someday you will get caught in the act, I hope it's me that catches you.  If it wasn't for my bear box, which you almost got open, you would have got my camera that has a code to turn on, rendering it useless to you.  Dumb azz!  Pretty smart theif I'd say though, using that elk bone to twist the cable lock to break it was good, trying to pry the box off the tree with rib bones, not so smart.  And I can only hope the beating you gave my camera with that leg bone scared all the elk away.  I wonder if it was your camp I saw in there a couple weeks earlier?? Which I left alone!  Grow the heck up dirtbag, I'm in that area a lot, keep it up and you will get caught.

You didn't get pictures of the dirtbag before they tried to steal it?

the dirtbags were just smart enough to keep their mug away from the camera, I was very disappointed to not be able to put their faces all over the Internet.

That's a pain to have to worry about. At least the bear box worked!

it did its job, I just need to bend it back in shape.  I'm going to work on making some better boxes, maybe sell some to make up the cost.  This was a covert box, it's slightly stronger than the bushnell box, if it was the bushnell box they would have got my camera.

Just one more pic, your right I'm not sure these guys had anything to do with my camera. But, this camp was very close to my camera and they left garbage in the backcountry.  They had a small fire, should have just burned the crap!

That python lock isn't all that great. You're lucky they didn't succeed.
I quit using them after forgetting my key one time. I found a way to open one in about 30 seconds.
I'm not sure.

Camp was not up when I went to get the camera, I would have picked up the garbage but it was a bunch of baby wipes.  Not sure what they were used on, looked like just for a bath.

i was surprised it failed so easily.  Good thing it was lag bolted and the box held long enough. I'm sure they will start packing better tools now.  A second camera hidden would be good, got a pm with a good idea for next time.

I hate thieves, I have lost 2 cams. I saw a cam by George Lake when Bear hunting in August, surely got pics of me and my boy. Found 2 this week in the Tatoosh Wilderness on a pond. they were the deepest I've ever seen.

the real sad part is, some guys on here think it's ok to take anything they find on public property.  In their mind they just consider it abandoned!
