Coyotes vs Terrier
«

Almost lost our little hunting buddy early this evening.
We heard him barking at 1914hrs and went out to lock him up and found him bleeding from multiple puncture wounds and two tears..... his back and belly.
Vet came over and fixed him up in the kitchen and doped him up.
Tracks in the drive tell the story...... the orchard in the backyard has been dropping fruit and drawing critters, Usually well after dark though.
Will setup tomorrow and see if revenge is in the cards.

Where using dogs for coyote hunting is legal i have heard that Jack Russles make great coyote dogs! Pond for pound you have a tough dog. And from what i hear once they get the idea how becomeing the "Decoy" works they love going dogging!
Tell him to recover quick!

A buddy and i will be trying to eradicate some coyotes that are trying to lure a friends dog into the woods frequently.

T Pearce, you (and your little buddy) got super lucky. Usually they will snatch up those little guys and carry them off. I am glad the fella is alright

I think were lucky too. He stands 16" and weighs 20# or more now.
The Coyotes..Haven't been able to find them and they havent left their calling cards in the drive or the orchard since that night......... if Reggie could talk he might say? "You should see the other guy" ??
He slept friday nite sitting and leaning against his boy. Sat nite we layed a towel down beside my chair... doped him up and he crashed hard. On his side with the smell of last week's skunk still rising from his farm dog soul.
Sunday found him hunting gophers and chasing birds around the place. This is a tough breed have to give them that.
Thanks to all that replied....
Happy Hunting
T and Reggie

need any help with your coyotes? Years ago I helped a guy out that had coyotes after his sheep and calves. I thinned them out for him. As you can see I am local.
