GOT LUCKY WITH THIS GUY ONLY 4 MILES UP IN THE TIMBER.  A COUPLE COW CALLS LATER AND THIS GUY CAME ROARING IN AT 20 YARDS.

No hoof rot on him we did see it on one other bull we helped load in a truck.  I told the guy he might want to cut it off before getting to far.

I think all the westside elk have to have the hooves removed in the woods prior to transport. I always leave them anyway as they're just dead weight. We got an elk one year and buried the 4 legs upright on a berm along with the male organ. I know weird sense of humor but you had to be there.  :chuckle:
