GOT LUCKY WITH THIS GUY ONLY 4 MILES UP IN THE TIMBER. A COUPLE COW CALLS LATER AND THIS GUY CAME ROARING IN AT 20 YARDS.

No hoof rot on him we did see it on one other bull we helped load in a truck. I told the guy he might want to cut it off before getting to far.

I think all the westside elk have to have the hooves removed in the woods prior to transport. I always leave them anyway as they're just dead weight. We got an elk one year and buried the 4 legs upright on a berm along with the male organ. I know weird sense of humor but you had to be there.

Nice bull guys, glad to see there were still some elk in that drainage. Seeing that bull in camp definitely gave us some much needed hope that there were still elk in Hoftstadt Creek.
