I am truly blessed with this buck! Decided to take a weekend trip to finish up the early muzzleloader season, and to visit some eastside friends of mine. Hunted hard all weekend and saw nothing but a abundance of 2 points and does like normal. A good wildland firefighter friend of mine had set me up on a half scorched hillside where he had seen some very size able 3 points almost every day on the fire line. Well lo and behold nothing....until the last hour in the last day of the season. I was in some unburned sage, and I had already accepted the fact that I would need to plan out a late season hunt and work more over time to pay for it . Made it halfway to my rig when I look up and see a doe bounding up the hill, great I think to myself nothing else is gonna show its face in here again, wrong! This big ole guy steps out and just turns and quarters away uphill roughly 110-120 yards. so I focused, aimed and fired and after the smoke had cleared it turns out I dumped this guy right in his tracks. I am extremely blessed with this deer as it is my first mule, and my first muzzleloader kill as well, and not to mention it's freakkn HUGE! definatley worthy of a shoulder mount!
