Scored in Cabelas bargain cave!
« on: November 21, 2015, 10:05:43 AM »
I've been looking to get a grinder and after searching on here it looked like the consensus was to get a 1hp Cabelas commercial grade. I was planning on getting one after Christmas with gift cards and my points to lesson the cost. However, I went into the bargain cave this morning and wouldn't you know they have one that was a display model for $370 normally $600. I can't wait to grind some meat!

I love the bargain cave! That's the first place I hit when I get into Cabelas.

That's a good price. I got mine a few years ago on sale for $399. But since then I haven't seen them go on sale that low. It's a good grinder. You'll like it for sure.

1 horse with reverse and a foot pedal is awesome.  I never have to use the plunger except on super fine grind items.... chunks go as fast as I can get them in the throat.  Workhorse to be sure!  Nice score.

Always go bigger!

I would always agree with that, but I have the 1 HP model, and I cannot feed it fast enough.  I cannot imagine what the extra money would go for for the 1.5 HP...

I'm thinking the same. Plus a downside I can think of is the weight. It's gotta be heavier than the 1 hp. Every time I use mine I have to bring it from the garage into the house, and it's about as much weight as I wanna pack!

I have the 3/4 and it's plenty fast enough even for 5-6 animals at a time.

I don't recall exactly, but I think it was like $570 or something.
