High Court Not to Hear Challenge to Ban
« on: December 07, 2015, 10:04:38 AM »
A city in Illinois banned certain semi-autos and standard capacity magazines and some residents are challenging.  The case made its way to the US Supreme Court for consideration, but justices have voted not to hear the case.

:yeah: Thomas and Scalia dissented with Thomas writing the opinion. This doesn't kill the issue. It just refers it back to the district.

It will most likely be back. Remember, it only takes four of the nine justices to grant the writ of certiorari. As soon as another district rules the other way, it will be back for review and the court will likely take it up next time.
