Holographic sights

I was curious if anyone has tried putting a Holographic sight on a 45-70? I recently purchased a Marlin 45-70 guide gun and was thinking about putting a scope on it and I'm kind of leaning towards a holographic sight. I also have an AR, both have the rail system on them figured it would be interchangeable. Any thoughts on brands, if it's a good idea on 45-70, or if anyone has any experience with this setup? Using Hornady leverevolotion ammunition.

Is the AR for hunting? Or the zombie apocalypse?

I love an EOTech. I've heard some complaints about their durability and deplorable customer service, but I've banged one around a few times and it has always held up. Its great for two eyed shooting in low light. Not for hunting but picking off the zombies

The AR is for Hunting. Had a Coyote come in last night and run off with one of my turkeys as a matter of fact. It will be used in low light for coyotes and bobcats.
