The Finisher!
« on: December 14, 2015, 11:17:29 PM »
Figured I would give a little product review on this as I have used one this season.  They seem to work very well and quickly.  Not a bad deal to carry one or make one yourself if you have a bird you want to mount.  I used to just pull a wing feather and use that if I wanted to mount it.  The quick way is to ring the neck, but as you can see from many posted pictures with guys with MIA heads, they get a little carried away on this step.  If you need an idea for X'mas for a stocking stuffer.  Might be worth checking out or like I said, give you an idea for making one or carrying a nail on you. :dunno:

kinda morbid in my opinion.  i just whack their heads over the butt of my gun.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

I think too much thought goes into it... I just smack their head on something... much more humane in my opinion also... just like bonking fish. that way a bird for the taxi is in perfect shape!

I carry one on my lanyard and use when needed.

I will say it is a little morbid, but it does the job quickly and does no damage to the bird.

Looks like you grip the "Finisher" by the round part and push the sperm tail looking thing into the spinal cord of a duck.

I'd probably fall down and embed it into my sternum if I wore that  :chuckle:
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

Link has a video, basically what JonathanS above and H2O says below, push pointing thing into back of head and wait for bird to die.

Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

It pierces the notch in the back of the skull.  One quick spin make mush of the brain.  Head hangs instantly.

I think its awesome!  Quickly finishes the bird, whats morbid about that?

Every time I wack a bird on my gun blood flies everywhere and half the time an eye pops out or a beak breaks.

Morbid, what are you guys talking about??
