Duck Hunting Club!
« on: December 25, 2015, 10:41:03 PM »
Hello, currently in the search of finding a club around Snohomish area to become a member of.... It doesn't seem that many clubs have websites, but I know they are out there... Is there anyone that has any recommendations? If so that would be great! Literally scouted every road from carnation to south Lynden trying to find some private land to hunt... Some farm owners said yes, but the only problem is the birds flight path is no where near the pieces of land I have permission for. Other farmers is a no go, even offered $$$. Gets harder by the year to find decent land to hunt on, that's why I have come to my senses and am going to be joining a club.. Just unsure of what options I have. Anything helps! Thanks.

I just heard of one club costing 50k for a year....does this sound right?!?!?!?! Who would waste all that money on a club when you could do just do multiple one week trips to canada (where everyone gives you permission to hunt) or someplace south. I guess if you have the money and not enough time to travel...but still.

I have family that are caretakers of a prominant hunting club here on the westside. I am not sure of the cost/year for membership but it is a swanky place to say the least. Some of the member perks include having your decoys placed for you, being delivered to your blind via utv, meals prepared in the lodge. You have your own quarters in the lodge, there's a gear room, hot tub and an entertainment room with card tables, big screen and a bar. If you don"t have a dog you can use the professionally trained club dog. There's even an extra truck for the guys who fly into the air strip in their cesnas and choppers....I don't get to hunt there. :'(

People who don't want to associate with those of us who think $50K is a lot of money.

Nice first post,  btw.

I saw on other social media that Lord HIll is trying to find members. It's pretty much next to French Creek. Pat Murphy, the dog trainer, is your contact.

Well that does sound like a fancy setup...but I like the work put in scouting/setting up different style spreads/moving occasionally etc. to get birds. I love putting in the work to get birds...it's just so satisfying. I wouldn't want everything done for me. That being said...i do understand that being pretty much guaranteed birds and treated like a king would be nice...just not for me haha

If I had 2k a year I would find some swamp land to buy where there are ducks and you can shoot a gun.

If it was that easy we would have private lakes. There is a reason clubs exist, and it's not to lose money.
