Sea ducks in the sound

Any of you hunt sea ducks in the sound? Mainly mid to North sound but open to south. How do you know where it's legal to hunt on open water? Was going to take my on x maps with me in case there is a private area listed. Never done it. Have my sea duck card looking for tips and any info. Buddy has a few long lines of deekes. Pretty good hunting in Padilla Bay.  Anchor up mid bay.  All open.  Watch the tides and leave if a north wind comes up.  Boat launch under Twin Bridges.

Thanks pretty much what we were thinking. Is it better to camo up or just wear black ? Any boat concealment suggestions?

At this point in the season it won't matter what you're doing, big boat w/ puddle duck hide + birds being shot up for months = everything but bufflehead and a few sea ducks flaring at distance.

padilla bay is great for sea ducks... go our mid bay and setup about 4 dozen long lines. should have a good shoot of scoters and squaw... I was out there yesterday and shot a few scoters. sea ducks aren't super picky so as long as your boat isn't shiny metal youll do fine...

Watch weather forecasts and tides.  As it can go from calm to 4'-5' swells in short order depending on location.
