The smoking gun?

Examining all the mass public shootings in the US from 2000 through 2015, shows that states that adopted additional background checks on private transfers saw a statistically significant increase in rates of killings (80% higher) and injuries (101%) from mass public shootings.

This appears to be Obama's "if you like your guns, you can keep your guns," speech.

Several polls say the same thing.  Most support increasing background checks, but most also believe they won't effect gun violence.  Pretty much sums up the liberal stance.

All of this is just smoke and mirrors to get the ball rolling toward what they really want.

Wow, lots of surprises. One, that NO is winning, TWO, the Times is running the numbers, THREE, how idiotic the comments are in favor. Seattle needs to become it's own state.
