Hornady Eld-x bullets?
« on: January 20, 2016, 06:18:02 AM »
Anyone got their hands on the new bullets from hornady? Specs look pretty good. Can't find them anywhere. The amax shoots really good out of my gun. Thinking these will work really nice

I have some of the 143 grain 6.5 coming in the mail.
Will probably be a month at least before I get to shoot them as I need optics and brass and dies still.

I have gone through a few hundred of the 6.5's now.   They have been pretty accurate and the bc's seem to be spot on out to 1k.  Still waiting on the 7mm and 30 stuff.  They make the straight eld in 338.

Good to hear. I was waiting to find the eld x or 142 ablr. If neither of them showed up I was going to use bergers.
Can't wait to get shooting them

I have been developing loads with the 143 grain in my 264WM and 260REM; 200 grain in my 300WSM and 212 grain in my 300RUM.  Results are excellent.  The 7mm and 30 cal 220 grain have not hit the market anywhere yet that I can find.  Try MidWayUSA and get on the waiting list.  I hope to put on of these bullets in a bear this spring.

I sure wish they made them in .277.  :dunno:

But I suppose it really doesn't matter- I've got enough Bergers and Barnes bullets to last me the rest of my life.
