White Rock Collapsible Goose Decoys

Anyone have any experience with these? Or use them?  Just ordered some to test out.  Will be nice for hiking in to get a bigger set.  I've heard really good things directly - but some of the reviews say otherwise.

I ordered 2 dozen pre this season. Figured I would give them a shot. They never made it to the field. Couldn't get them to open all the way. Tried all the techniques suggested, leaving in the sun, leaving in a hot room, using a hair dryer, running under a hot shower... couldn't get them to open right. basically left them out of the box for 2 weeks and tried to make it work.

Whats the point if I'm out in the field and its cold out and they wont open right.

Sent them back. Awesome idea just execution was less than ideal.

FYI - I received these.  Two were pretty beat up, 4 were fantastic.  I called White Rock and they are sending me  two replacements for the two that had issues.  All four of the good ones that I worked opened up - White Rock's customer service was fantastic.

Hmm maybe I should give these another shot. I also had one that was ripped but they sent me 2 replacements both were not great in paint though. Any trick to opening them?

Kind of a bummer QC is so low/non existent, I think sending a guy an order that is 1/3 messed up straight away is something I'm not keen on. I still will probably get some of their blind door flags though.

I think we have to also remember what these are and are not.  I knew going in - they're not going to be AS GOOD as full bodies, but I knew they're going to be better than silhouettes or socks.  They're definitely closer to full bodies in terms of look and quality to my spread than silo's or socks...  For me, where I hunt geese a lot, I hike in, and can't tow a trailer out to the field... So these will allow me to take out 3 or 4+ doz decoys easy -  instead of a dozen (or multiple trips back to the truck). 

White Rock was super easy to work with and quickly fixed the issue.  They also told me their latest shipment fixed a lot of the quality issues that their first shipment from China had.  I suspect the big box chains still has product from their first shipment.  The replacements sent from WRD had much better paint and overall quality. 

As for getting them to form more quickly - I plugged the hole in the tail, and blew from the stem to get them to form quickly.  I then set them upright sitting on their base and put them in our bathroom where it heats up and steams during showers.  I recommend buying directly through WRD - this way you have a direct line of communication if you run into any issues, they're very responsive.

I was at Cabelas over the weekend and they had two boxes in the bargain cave for dirt cheap so I thought I would give them a look. For the life of me I couldn't get one to look right. One side was always caved in or flat looking. I got frustrated after trying 6 or so I gave up and thought there is no way I'm wasting money on these. They reminded me of those cheap foam turkey decoys that collapse. Using the turkey decoys for years I got more frustrated with them they I did actual use.

I haven't used them as much as Spuddieselwwu so I can't give real life experience but from what I saw in the Cabelas store I won't be buying any till they improve.

Call white rock and have them swap them out for the newer mode ones. Just tell them you bought them at cabelas.
