I thought some of you guns nuts would enjoy this. My grandpa got a Winchester model 63 for Xmas the winter of 1935 as a Sr. in high school. He shot the heck out of it, and often used it for "camp meat" taking grouse to toss into the pot. The rifle was in okay shape it had the normal nicks and dings of a gun the worked for a living. He died in 1989, and the gun has not been shot since. My dad got a wild hair, and sent the gun back to a smith/restorer in the Midwest and asked them to make it as close to "factory new" as possible. My dad then asked me to take it this fall to camp and get some camp meat with it out of respect. With an request like that how can you say no.
