What launch is closest to Barker Flats on Banks Lake? Also...Barker is west of Steamboat?

Yes, West of steamboat.  You can launch a smaller boat at the Barker launch, but it sucks in a southerly wind. Mostly we either launch at Northrup or Steamboat. A couple mile run, and good spots to fish on the way there and back.

Launch at Northrup as stated. They have no docks in the water right now so you'll need to pull to shore to load/offload your passengers. We tried to fish there last Sunday but the wind was howling, we couldn't even make it past Steamboat as the rollers/whitecaps from the south were smashing over the bow. My father did do well with a guide a few days prior, fishing deep, 45-60'. Good luck!

When we tried to fish the lake last Sunday the fish finder read the surface temp at 50.9°. We weren't on the water long as it went from breezy to practically gale force in no time. Once that happened I wasn't paying much attention to the fish finder anymore. I asked a guy at Big Wally's if the perch spawn had begun at the south end of the lake and he suggested the water temps were almost but not quite right for that yet. Not sure exactly what the temp needs to be kick that off.

I 'm not gonna make it up to Banks this weekend. Two kids in hockey sure does take up a lot of free time. I really wanted to go today, but time will not allow it. Kids transition into spring league after this weekend, and that will free up some time. I may run the boat on Moses today, I'll post a water temp.
