On to hog hunting
« on: March 01, 2016, 04:03:12 PM »
Well yesterday trapping season ended here in VA.  So tomorrow I start running a hog bait.  I got a new wireless trail camera that sends photos via text and e-mail, which will save a little gas.  I'll share photos of the hogs I get on camera here and write about my hunts.  I'll be hunting mostly at night.  I have a motion activated green light, which turns on slowly and increases light over a few seconds.  I'll be bowhunting with a lighted sight.

Couple of photos from last year

I hope you have better luck this year.  Stick a few!

Can you run hog traps there?  The big pen style ones?
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

You can, but I can't on these properties.  I have 5 properties that have hogs on them and they are all part of a hunting club.  Can hunt as hard and as often as I want, but no trapping.  :(

No limit, as many as you can kill every day of the year.

Spartan GoCam Blackout IR (Verizon Version)  Got it for $400 at the Great American Sports show in Harrisburg, PA last month.  Eventually you'll be able to add the device to your existing Verizon plan for $5 a month.  Hopefully by the end of April.  But right now I am on the HCO plan which is $17.99 a month.  I can receive about 5000 photos a month at that rate.

Will do, probably be a little slow until they find the bait site, but since I'm using one from last spring they should be on it pretty quick.

Tagging along.  Give em hell Fred!
