OPEN ALL SEASONS ON A WEDNESDAY
« on: March 02, 2016, 01:24:03 PM »
This would give the hunter that has the passion to take the days off work,a quality hunt. Also gets the animals a chance to spread out, so its not COMBAT HUNTING.Give each group two weekends and 3 extra day's, close it on a Sunday.

You seriously judge people's passion for hunting by what and how many days they take vacation from their job?

Or we could model it after west side pheasant hunting, and you have to choose even or odd calendar days.  :chuckle:

So you'd rather have a mule deer tag for late Sept/early October, instead of the first 20 days of November?  :dunno:

How about we let WDFW sell us an extra "early start" stamp that gives us three extra days to hunt before everybody else?  Or sell us a two day stamp, and have us apply for the third day through the permit system?...   JOKES!

I see no need to monkey with the seasons...

why does everyone want more and more changes, hunting seasons are fine as is, except for muzzleloader seasons.  Every time the rifle and archery guys start crying, the muzzie guys get something else taken away.

Also, for you to think that just because someone doesn't take vacation to hunt makes them not as passionate as those that do is absurd!  I get five weeks of vacation a year but it's scheduled I have no say when I get to take it and I promise you that my passion for hunting is second to very few people.

What if a guy doesn't get any vacation :dunno:  What if a guy only gets a week but uses it to take his family on a vacation :dunno:  This means he isn't a passionate hunter and should be penalized :dunno:  Let a few guys get in there and scatter everything to hell and back before most of the weekend warriors get their chance :dunno:

I have 3 weeks vacation and 90% of it gets used for hunting.   The few other days I use are for bigger archery shoots I bring the whole family to and camp for long weekend.  With my kids getting old enough now I have to start planning vacations to Disney land and stuff instead of elk camps.  Think it's just fine the way it is.

Longer seasons would solve everyone's issues.  If we had 5-6 weekend to hunt this would all go away.   :twocents:

Not often I will go this route... But what a dumb ass idea!!

Screw the poor sclepp over that has to work for a living. We would all love to get an early jump on the masses, but that's just screwing someone who does not have the ability to take extra time off.

If memory serves me . For MF westside , it was a few years later about the same time that WDFW lenghtened the season . For alot of years it was 8 days .

No one should expect hunting and or fishing season to revolve around them and their work schedule.  If you cant go for some reason, thats your problem.......we've all been there and done that.  SOme times you can some times you can not.  I always managed to find a way to hunt and fish when I worked and was raising kids......and I never ever had a paid day off.......no workie no pay.    We simply cant have longer seasons so you guys can have more weekends to hunt.  The resource cannot handle any additional pressure.

I think you can look for seasons to get shorter before they will ever get longer.   :yike:

This is it.
Last week my partner mis read the regs re: this seasons elk opener date (opening friday). We havent purchased tags yet and my thoughts were switch states due to my son having to miss the opening. This states recruitment would pile into the porcelain if this were to happen.
I see I'm not alone in this belief.
