Bow Trigger/Caliper Release

I am new to the Archery seen and am setting up my new bow I got and was wondering what trigger release is the best.  I've been doing a little research and they all look the same to be but the prices are so varying and just was wondering what would be a good "NEWBIE" trigger release!!  Thanks in advance!!

Prices reflect the ammount of machine work and polishing. I have a scott release works good runs $ 5-60. All the pricier stuff has polished surfaces and bearings. Ive never tried it but I would imagine you could take apart and polish a cheaper release.

No but if your just starting out a $200 release isnt going to make a difference to you.. if you can sand or polish a hammer/sear on a rifle I bet you can make a cheaper release feel like glass.  Some of the more expensive ones feel more comfortable.

Are you looking for a T handle style or a Wrist strap? Try the Carter Quickie or RX-!. Quickie is a little cheaper and operates with a band for the return. Very durable, No creep, quiet and very user friendly. The RX-! operates with a magnet. Same feel .Both very good releases. I have both at my shop and a Genesis bow with a safe draw if you would like to try either or different options,. I have many to choose from.

I have been shooting a t handle for the last 10 years. Tried a lot of them and settled on the hardcore 4. I just bought the new revolution. Going to be testing it out later this year. Just like the hardcore 4 but roating head and a little more adjustment.

I started with one of he $20 True-ball velcro units, shot that for a few months then tried a Scott @ sportco when looking at a new bow.  Ended up buying a Scott Shark and love it.  Nice lite trigger on it so you just have to think about shooting and it goes.  Make sure to keep your finger behind (off just like a gun) the trigger until go time!

Buckle strap too so no tearing velcro sound or noise when out in the woods looking for dinner..

Maybe try some friends releases at some point?  Support your local bow shop too, have work done etc, ask them about releases and they might  let you try a few out and give you recommendations / ideas.

D Rock.. M home. I sell for Carter. Have a lot of options and the Genesis bow. Great to try all releases on. Keeps you from shooting your arrows in the trees or hitting yourself in the mouth.
