Pig hunting in Eastern Wa

Saw a guy at Sportsman's show in Puyallup advertising pig hunting in E. Washington. Trying to get a group of my military bros together to go shoot something. They all want to hunt and this sounds like it would be a fun/guaranteed time for us. Can't find the brochure. Help?

I've seen some pigs roaming around outside of Cheney (by the hole in the ground) and they were dumb as could be.  Huge but dumb.  I wonder if the guy advertising on here has some that get out from time to time?

There is some kind of operation out there yeah, like a ranch hunt for boars. From how it sounded, it's pretty much like shooting hogs off a feed lot.

Don Belsby used to have hunts for big pigs at his ranch, Canyon Crest I think was the name, he also had Buffalo
on the ranch.

The news of feral pigs isn't good. I'm glad the WDFW is responding fast but are they just delaying the inevitable? Maybe that helicopter would be put to better use up in the NE corner of the state.

  I think the inevitability lies in stupid people trying to establish a feral hog population.

You think that people are "planting" them? There would be pretty severe criminal and civil liabilities incurred if that were true.

All I can say is that there is a big business for hog hunting in a lot of the country and yes I think there are some people who would do that.  I tend to doubt the likelihood that feral pigs are so out of control that they've inhabited half the country in the past few decades on their own.

Eastern Washington would be a tougher place for them than East Texas or the Carolinas to establish though.

It just sounded fun. Most of the guys don't know much about hunting. I spend the most time doing it and only get a buck every 3 or 4 years. I haven't gotten anything with my bow and I inspired another guy to buy one. Thought it might be a confidence builder for us to go shoot something with our bows. Northwest Trek looks like pretty easy pickings and it's closer anyway. (I'm kidding)

They are the most adaptable mammal in North America. They're omnivores and will eat anything, including ungulate young. They can live in climates from desert to tundra and everything in between. In TX alone, they'll do $60M in damage this year, not bringing anywhere near that in income from hunting them. Don't make the mistake of underestimating their ability to reproduce and damage crops/assets. Once they take firm hold, they're impossible to get rid of.
