Well, almost half the boat was sick and puking before we even got a pole in the water. It's been pretty bad, BUT weather- wise it's gorgeous right now and our boat got it's limit of lings pretty quick  :IBCOOL: ..finishing up on rockfish now! I'm one of the un-sick hold outs so far lol *fingers crossed*.

C-money what boat you on, how's it going out there?

We got 2 butts, acouple lings and a few rockfish. Butts were 40lb and 30lb. Nice fish, water was alittle bumpy on the way back in but not horrible. Fish n chips for us!!

The good Hali holes range from 30-40nm out. Generally its a 8-12 hour day unless you do an express trip on a 6 pack boat where on a good day your back in 5-6 hours. Prices vary by boat.

We had a great weekend! Fishing was fantastic. Saturday was a little rough, and 3/4 of our boat was puking on the ride out, and most of the day.I was blessed with no sickness this weekend, just pure fun! We hammered rock fish, and limited on Lings Saturday. I was excited to get my biggest ling on this trip. I got two well over 30''. Sunday, the ocean was a lot better. I let a fish eat my bait for a bit, reeled down and raised the rod...oh man! Fish on! This halibut fought like a champ! Sure did not want to come up, peeled off a good bit of line more than once. It was my goal to fight my halibut with rod in hand the whole way up. Folks kept saying put the rod in the rod holder, its easier to crank!....my battle cry was "my armpit is my rod holder!" Got him up, gaffed and in the boat. Pretty good one for WA. It appeared to be way above average and possibly the biggest on our boat. I was blessed. Boat had all its halibut by 0930 and we went and hammered Lings in 500fow. Great day! Starfire is an excellent boat and crew, one of the best in Westport for sure. I'll post a pic, but dont make fun of the look on my face with the halibut, its hard to hold a fish that big up for the camera and look cool at the same time! Also, I'm 6'3" 310lbs for reference.
