My favorite bullet for elk is the Barnes, and go lighter than normal.
(270 - 130 grain, 7mm Mag - 140 grain, 30/06 - 150 grain, 300 Mag - 168, etc.)

Well that's great I didn't think I needed to say muzzleloader bullets in the muzzleloader forum.

Oh, sorry, I didn't even notice it was in the muzzleloader forum. I'd still go with Barnes. I'm using the 290 grain TEZ in my CVA Optima.

400 grain Harvester.

Hard cast, flat nose.

I love them.

Elk hate them.

I buy my bullets from TRACK OF THE WOLF .com. I shoot the 54. Cal 430 grn conicals. They are whole lot cheaper than getting name brand. And I've taken both deer and elk with them with great results.
