Any tips on removing the hide/hair easily from around the base of the horn? I use a sharp knife with pliers, but it seems like there has got to be an easier way. Thanks in advance.

Try putting the base in boiling water for a little bit

If it is dried on put the skull plate in a bucket of water for 3 or 4 days.
